Fairmount Soccer Association

Fairmount Soccer Association

Dear Fairmount Soccer and United Philly Soccer Families,

The Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA), our governing authority, has issued the following directives to all clubs in its jurisdiction:

Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer is suspending all sanctioned soccer activity through Sunday April 5. We will re-evaluate at that time. Suspended sanctioned soccer extends to all leagues and clubs. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Training
  • Organized kick arounds or fitness activities
  • Games or scrimmages
  • Tournaments
  • Referee and coaching courses
  • State Cups
  • Indoor/futsal

As per the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, all schools are closed for a two-week period. No school facility can be used for any sanctioned activity. Please comply with the directives of our health agencies and professionals. Do not put yourselves or the children at risk to play soccer. This is not a time to be concerned about soccer, this is a public health crisis.

We'll keep you updated if and when we have more information.

Please note the suspension of soccer activities through April 5th applies to ALL soccer activities, including formal and informal gatherings of players.

Thank you,

Steve Moosbrugger, President, Fairmount Soccer Association

Curt De Veaux, President, United Philly Soccer

We would like to remind everyone what they can do to prevent the spread of the virus:

- Vigilant hand-washing and use of sanitizers - If you or any family member is ill, or under the weather please stay home
- Do not share water bottles
- Once activities resume: sportsmanship is a key component in all sporting activities; however, we ask that teams do NOT shake hands following play if and when play is resume
- Request that those around you following the above listed practices

We will continue to follow the guidance of our youth soccer governing authority, EPYSA. Their frequently updated page is: https://www.epysa.org/coronavirus-covid-19-advisory-/
